Subject: [Philmont]: Places to stay near Philmont?

I am with Troop 322 of Greenville, Texas. We are going to Philmont in June,
and would like to leave a day early to spend time getting acclimated to the
altitude. Does anyone have suggestions for an inexpensive place to stay in
or near Raton?

Though I have no direct knowledge, the NRA Whittington Center outside Raton has been suggested in the past.
