Great stuff on stoves and fuels.
I've taken several treks at Philmont and have carried my trusty old Whisperlites every time.
Like Mr. Moss before leaving the hose I strip them, give them a thurough cleaning and, replace all the seals.
I also make sure the fuel bottles are as clean as I can get them.
I also make sure the filter is clean and felt replace if needed.
My stoves have never let me down.
I always filter the fuel. If a stove sputters it's time to filter the fuel again.
I purchased enough pumps that I have no caps on the fuel bottles - just pumps.
It's simple and effective.
