RE: [Philmont]: Lyrics to "Edge of Texas"?

We discussed Nopalito Cactus last August and I have an update. (The
Philmont connection is the song by Philmont's Rod Taylor)

Today I was at Wal-mart and when I was looking for sliced jalapeno peppers I
found jars of "Nopalitos - Tender Cactus". To my surprise there were two
brands. For the curious the pictures of the jars can be seen at
http://www.mexgrocer.com/1353.html and http://www.mexgrocer.com/1200.html.
Wal-mart was much cheaper than this online store. The first one, Dona Maria
was $1.58 for a 30 oz. jar, and the second, La Costena, was $1.78 for a 28
oz. jar.

OK - Searching Google, I get almost 8,000 hits for Nopal cactus, 1800
hits for Nopalito Cactus, and 24 hits for Nopalita cactus. On the
latter two terms, it seems the most common threads are salad and salsa,
so that sure makes more sense than Angel Hair Pasta! So the immediately
renovated line is:

"Where chili enchiladas come with nopalito cactus", with an observation
that Rod appears to be pronouncing "nopalito" as "napolita". Then
again, maybe that's how it's supposed to be pronounced...

Guess I should have put this out on the list a month ago, rather than
beating my head on a brick wall. Thanks!

Thanks also Calvin and CR for the info on Deaf Smith (my edumacation
continues...)
