Typically, Philmont wants their Rangers to have a year of college before
being a Ranger. But that isn't a "hard and fast" rule as prior high
adventure experience (especially Rayado) is a factor. So, it really
depends upon how much experience the young person has. Typically,
Philmont has several mid-season hires and it isn't too late for someone to
be hired for a position starting in June.
