I received an email from our district tonight that had the following message
in it.
>>>ChoicePoint, the company used by the Boy Scouts of America to do their
back ground checks of Scout leaders has had the information on about one
hundred fifty thousand people stolen.
This data encludes social security numbers, names, addresses, and in some
cases credit files. ChoicePoint officials recommend that you secure a credit
report and make sure there is no unusual activity.

Has anyone else heard of this. I read the Post article and it said that the
info was SOLD, not stolen. The people who bought it were crooks. Why would
our personal info be sold? Did BSA know that the info could be sold?
