Garden of the Gods Park near Colorado Springs) is a beautiful and scenic
park; a good place for a drive thru loop, with some stops for either hikes
or climbing around on the beautiful and large boulders which make up the
landscape.
This is city park is free and it's on the way to Pike's Peak, if you are
heading that way from Colorado Springs. There is an excellent visitors center
too. The Garden of the Gods is open quite early in the morning. Good photo
ops there, a few hiking trails, and roadside turnouts -- depending on your
time schedule. It's popular with cyclists, too.
