Read this and laughed out loud.

Tourists, Tourons, or Touristas, I love to show off!

Subject: [Philmont]: Rock Climbing at the Garden of the Gods

I have climbed twice in the GotG, and second Jim's opinion on its
difficulty. In addition, I believe that special permits are now required,
and they ain't cheap. There are also Draconian fines if the city has to
come rescue you - something that used to happen fairly regularly (it is my
understanding) because most climbers climbed on the east faces, but the
weather approaches from the west (and you don't know it's coming til it's on
top of you). The poor quality of the rock, and the added expense, is why I
switched to Quest Camp.

Of course, there IS something rather heady about being 150 feet up New Era,
and having hundreds of tourists taking your picture....
