Dave,
Aside from your main points, which I'm sure we'll find out about in
August, I'd like to know how you make out. How much fuel do you use, and
is it worth the weight (my son would say "DUH, we're talking COFFEE
here!). Inquiring advisors want to know, so please keep some notes.
Also, if you DO deliver any babies, please let us know how that turns
out, and I'm sure we'd all be interested to hear what you used the
boiling water for during that process. With all the training I've had
(including field deliveries) I've never heard of any use for the boiling
water besides A) Give the father something to do, and B) Have tea to
celebrate the event.
I too emailed Wade off-list and expressed my concerns. He understands
what he is doing, I'm sure. After our exchange I'm certain Wade is a
competent and experienced Scouter that might just teach us all something
new. I can't wait to hear how this all turns out, but I'm pretty
confident it will all be good. They will either have an easy pleasant
time of it, or not. But the views won't change, the trails will still be
challenging, the sunsets will still be glorious, and they will have the
trip of a lifetime. Isn't THAT why we all do this?
 Happy Hiking,
Tom
