Re: [Philmont]: RE: Jet Boils - am I too late to Opine?

If all I have to do is carry a JetBoil and Coffee for a crew in my pack, I
would gladly do it to get back on the trail again.

No matter what happens at Philmont, it is always a growth experience for the
crew. Our contingent had three crews in 2001. One had been together for
several years, and were all from one troop, with lots of backpacking experience
together. A second one was from two units, and had mixed experience. The
third crew was from several different units, with limited experience.

Even though each crew brought different things to the table, all three had
successful treks. Each member of the crew learned new things, and had fun.

That is why Scouts go to Philmont - for the experience.

I can't wait to hear how this all turns out, but I'm pretty
confident it will all be good. They will either have an easy pleasant
time of it, or not. But the views won't change, the trails will still be
challenging, the sunsets will still be glorious, and they will have the
trip of a lifetime. Isn't THAT why we all do this?
