Question: I plan to bring a few items to Philmont that will likely require batteries (flashlight, camera, GPS).
I don't want to carry an extra supply of batteries. What is the availability of batteries in the backcountry?

Answer: There are batteries available along the trail at the food commissaries (such as Phillips Junction, etc.) Prices are reasonable, too. And for what it's worth, they sell one-time-use cameras there and many other replacement gear items, and there's a mail drop box as well.
