Well once again E-mail proves it is the worst means of communication.
One must be extremely clear in written word that is going to be read by people whom you have never met in person.

Here I thought I had I had written a clear question and then received some strange responses - I reread my letter in "cold body mode" with an open eye, ear and brain and realized how I mislead others. Sorry

As stated in my original letter, I have done Burro racing twice and find it one of the greatest program offered. I figure it will continue and to be at Harlan.

Here is a better restatement (I hope) of what I found and what I asked -
In using the 2005 book, for those treks whose first night is at Vaca and go forth, they list the shotgun shooting at Harlan but not the Burro Racing. For all treks that get to Harlan later in their trek, they list both Burro Racing.and shotgun shooting.

So the question is - If you took a trek that started at Vaca, did your Ranger take you over to Harlan for Burro Racing ??

Doctor Bob had good insight by saying - it will probably be up to your Ranger whether he thinks the crew has the time to do that and complete all the training he is required to give them.

Thank you

Dave

I suspect that whichever Philmont Guidebook you are referring to is in
error. Burro-Racing has been at Harlan for probably over 20 years, and
I have heard nothing about it being discontinued there (not that they
consult with me in advance, you understand....)

Anyone who has had one of these treks or another that began at Vaca -
Were you able to do Burro Racing??
