While the hike from Clear Creek to the top of Mt Phillips can be daunting,
after you have done it one time, it seems to go much easier the second. I
guess you know what to expect.... We did it in 2002 and 2004 and weren't
disappointed either time. The pictures we took at the top were everyone's
favorites. YIS. Mike ('76, '02, '04 and '07).

I think the guys in our 2003 crew would agree with you. They didn't
find the hike up Mt. Phillips from Clear Creek to be as difficult as
expected, but it was definitely the highlight of the trip. It was
surreal. The forest fires were still burning and we were above the
smoke, watching water-carrying helicopters flying below us, blades
shining in the sun. Camped on top of Phillips and watched a large
cinnamon colored bear walk through camp in the morning.
