I recall purchasing a slender volume at Philmont which was a humorous
account of how
some human behaviors are similar to burro behaviors. It was, if I recall
correctly, written
by a person who was in the judiciary branch of government.
I didn't have a chance to work with the burros at Philmont, but have been
fortunate to
have married someone who is a genius at working with horses - and people -
and has
helped me considerably with my limitations in this area.
If I were going to Philmont today I would really try for the burro program.
These animals
have - been there - done that - with a lot of Scout campers, and working
with them
will be very rewarding.
