The PACKS booklets arrive early (February or March) in year of the
Cavalcade. There are several trek choices based up which part of Philmont
you'll be in (south country or north country). Your crew selects south or
north when you send in your initial $50 per rider deposits. When you
receive your PACKS booklet, you'll send in a card with your top three
choices of itineraries.

I have a PACKS booklet from 2003 but it is "lost" somewhere in my home.

Our troop had a Cavalcade trek in 1998. Both our troop and venturing crew
had Cavalcade treks in 2003. All of our treks have been in the south
country. In 2003, it took both groups at least ten days to select their
itineraries and both received their first choices.

BTW, I did not go on any of our Cavalcades as riding a horse isn't my thing.
