We used a Dragonfly and a Simmerlite in '04. 2 large bottles of white gas which we brought with us (drove in from Dallas). The Dragonfly was important because a particular advisor (um, me), was assigned cooking duties on the last cooking night and kicked over the water just as it was coming to a boil. We were almost out of fuel (had plenty of water). I had used the simmerlite and it was so slow to boil I was afraid we didn't have enough fuel to boil another pot. Got out the Dragonfly, squeezed the last drops of fuel into the less empty other bottle, then fired up the Dragonfly and prayed. Not only did it boil the water (and faster than the simmerlite), we had enough fuel left for coffee the next morning. It's been my experience, of the conventional stoves using white gas, the Dragonfly is one of the best at getting it running, having the btu's necessary to boil faster, and that stable base.
The only downside is they changed the pump from one model to the next (2003-2005 sometime in there) and now the new pumps do not fit the old stoves and vice versa. So you have to be careful to make sure you have the right pump setting out.

-----Original Message-----Once again I seem to be off normal. Welcome to my life!!! We have used white gas stoves since the beginning with great results. Don't know all the stuff about weight. Do know we can get fuel at any commissary. Yes, I know that the fuel can be contaminated, just never have had that problem. Maybe we're due? My personal stove is a Peak Feather 400. The only repairs I have made is to replace the pump seal last year before Philmont. 10 years of great service. I also carry a medium size fuel bottle. The boys have had no real problem operating these stoves.
