>>> ...but more durable (and of course a lot more expensive...unless you
buy your pop from the machine where I work!)

Last summer I made one for friend's birthday using a heavy aluminum can
from a tea drink (Rain). It was a bear to get the inner piece inserted
without ripping the thin skin. I sort of reamed the heavier base
opening a bit to make it work. It added a few extra pounds but makes
the stove a lot more durable. I don't know if he's used it yet so I
can't report on effectiveness. I was concerned that the heavier aluminum
wouldn't pre-heat hot enough to vaporize the fuel inside. I should
check in on him and see if he's had any luck.

>>> ...so we ground shipped an unopened can of alcohol from the hardware
store along with our alcohol and white gas stoves and empty fuel
bottles.

Did you have to label the box for the flammable contents?

>>>The staffer cheerfully accepted my container, walked out the back
door and emptied it onto the gravel drive.

Oh, well. He should have at least given it to maintenance. :-)
