I don't get paid by anyone to do this. I get paid to review products. I let
you know about ones I think would be important to you on a high adventure
trek or in some cases any BSA program....for free. (Everyone else gets
charged a fee.) If you don't want to read it, delete it.
Pacific Outdoors has some pretty interesting stuff. They are competing hard
with Cascade Designs ridge rest and thermarests. Their pads are lighter and
I think slightly better designed. But the important thing is their Food
Line Throw. (Their naming is funny.)
This is a small self contained bag and rope. You open it up, put some rocks
in the bag and hold on to the rope as you throw the bag over a bear line.
The line is 50' feet of line so you have enough to get the bag over the
line.
Symbol but effective way of making sure you don't spend most of the night
throwing lines all over the camp.
The final thing is tarps. the D^3 is a shaped tarp to be sued with ski or
walking poles and their tarps are square. Well designed, plenty of tie
points and taped seems.
On a fun note, they also have pink flamingos you designed to be back packed
and set up around camp so some of you guys will feel at home.........
