Agree with Shane. I've used Crocs as camp shoe the last two yrs. Tried
several models, some with fewer holes. But with too few holes, or no holes,
the foot gets a little hot/clammy. Hiked in them, too, but have found
extended hiking maybe not the best on your foot. Took Cayman model to
Philmont last summer and they were great. Have a pair of Off Road to take
this summer - these have sturdier sole and no holes in tip of toe. Cayman
weighs in at 12 oz, Off Road at 14 oz. Note, the Beach, most popular model,
comes in S, M, L, while Cayman comes in specific number sizes - which you
may find a better fit. They seem to run large. They are very soft and
comfortable yet provide pretty good protection when stepping on rough/rocky
ground.

I use them, and some of the kids carry them. Much more comfortable than
running shoes after a long hike.
We do not allow the cooks to wear them around the stoves or boiling water
due to the holes...

I just wanted to suggest Croc's shoes for Philmont. They are great for after
a long day hiking and they weigh absolutely nothing. You won't find a
lighter pair of camp shoes around.
They just introduced an off-road model and a all terrain model. Just wanted
to know if anyone else used Croc's on the list.
