All good posts. I wear camp shoes to give my boots to dry out from the inside!!! I understand that some folks who are really into reducing what they carry, won't bring along camp shoes, but I do enjoy getting out of my boots at the end of the day. I want something that is as light as possible, but still will offer the bottom of my feet protection when I am walking around the campsite or even going to evening campfire programs. I've brought along some very lightweight boat moccasins, that have a hard sole. Works fine for me. I've thought about looking at Crocs, but I don't want to do the test run at Philmont.
