I do wish folks would cut out all the extra text from messages.
Do we really need three copies of the appended list text in a
message?

This is, of course, a good and important point.

This is a problem we all face with youth.

My son, now an Eagle, who is active in soccer, has not been able
to go on outings in the fall for several years now.
A few years ago, he and I went to the Grand Canyon over
Thanksgiving week to hike rim-to-rim-to-rim. My son had last
used his boots during the summer only 3 months before. When
we got in the car to go to the Grand Canyon (a 500 mile drive),
I asked him if his boots still fit. His answer was "of course
they do." I took him at his word :-).

When we got to the canyon, and he put his gear on, he couldn't
get his boots on his feet. These same boots, that fit fine in
August, could not be even put on his feet in November. They
weren't just tight, we couldn't get his feet even into them.
So, we hiked with him in his sneakers. The R2R2R round trip is
45 miles. He had no problem, but I would have preferred he do
it in boots. I won't forget to make them put on their boots
again before leaving home. That is a guarantee :-)
