I guess Frogg Toggs are ok. I haven't seen too many of them out on the
trail, however. I think they hold out the rain ok (afterall, that's what
they're supposed to do), but I'm not sure how resilient they are from
tearing, etc. It's my opinion that other rainsuits are better suited to
backpacking.
If you're looking for options, I can strongly recommend the Cabelas Packable
Nylon Raingear. My son and I both have jacket and pants and love them.
They're lightweight, pack into the pocket of the jacket and pack about the
size of a nerf football. When one considers spending $60 vs. $175 and up
for Gore-Tex and the like, you can't go wrong.
