I've worn my Red Ledge rain gear many times since my trek in 2003. I work the first down markers at the local home football games and have worn them several times in that capacity as well as on many camp outs.
When I have worn my Red Ledge rain gear with shorts and a T-shirt underneath, I feel soaked to the bone on any bare skin touching the rain gear. When I strip off the rain gear, I am always dry. I think this is a symptom of the fabric and note that my Cabela's Ultrex suit, which has a taffeta lining, does the same thing. This always freaks me out as I feel like my raingear isn't doing it's job and then am pleasantly suprised when I take it off. (Disclaimer: I am not saying that Don hasn't had 3 sets of bad Red Ledge, he obviously isn't happy with the performance of their rainsuits.) I have had moisture in my clothes underneath from sweat and if wearing long sleeves around the cuffs and sometimes around the neck. Usually moisture that I've had in the sleeves can be easily attributed to activities that require me to have my hands above my elbows and moisture around the neck due to not getting the hood up in time, not keeping it up (I've also stupidly put it up after having it
down so that it can catch water) or becuase I haven't had the top closed all the way up. I've never had leaks in mine where the moisture comes directly through the fabric or seams.
In my life BS (Before Scouts) I spent a lot of time running around in a bass boat (remember, getting there is half the fun) and I have only owned 4 rainsuits over the last 27 years. My first was a $15 vinyl rainsuit that, while being nearly water proof, was horribly stiff when it was cold and horribly hot when it was warm out. The second was a set of Rain Warrior gear from Bass Pro Shops (endorsed at the time by Roland Martin) much better while it was cold, still somewhat uncomfortable if it was warm out and the seam in the posterior area didn't really split but pulled open enough that the seam taping was loose and when I sat on the wet carpet of the boat deck I got a nice, cold, wet stripe up the backside of my jeans/shorts. The next gear I got was a 10th anniversary present from my wife, a set of Cabela's Ultrex purchased in the spring of 1995 at a cost of about $160. These were very good, water proof, flexible in the cold etc. I have used them many many times fishing,
camping, hiking, biking. I still use them when it's not warm out. This rainsuit is not light and was 10 years old when I went to Philmont in '03, I wanted something new and lighter. I was totally happy with the Red Ledge suit and plan on using it again this summer. My son also weathered several rains in his and has never complained or had a problem with leakage.
These are my personal observations and obviously others have not had as good of an experience with theirs as I have with mine (not unlike those that have had/seen the shredded Frog Toggs while at Philmont.)

I've picked up three different sets of Red Ledge based on recommendations
on this list. Not one worked. The water went through them like wearing cotton.
So I didn't just get a bad one. I even bought one set at TOTT just to see
if maybe I was getting them from a bad source. Did not repel water at all.
I have two sets of Frogg Toggs. They work great. One set has a bit of a
leak in one seam, but some seam sealer fixed that. They feel like paper, but
they are more like tyvek. They've been worn on two treks and the only tear was
when I caught them on something at home and pulled way too hard.
I highly recommend Frogg Toggs.
