Sorry for the confusing message. We're a Washington troop -- we carry full rain gear everywhere all the time. Here, it can drizzle and rain for an entire campout, so Philmont is a pleasure, where it usually only rains for a few hours.
And as someone else noted, Marmot Precips can become standard wardrobe. My older son lives in his about eight months of the year.
