We went to the site on our AA trip in 2006. There is a memorial. No,
not a massive statue as that would really be out of place. What we
found was a very well done plaque. In addition were several notes,
ribbons and mementos from servicemen both past and involved in our
current challenges.

I found the memorial along with it's current recent reminders to be very
powerful. I don't think I would change a thing.

Over time the wreckage has become more and more reclaimed by the
elements and I suspect it will not be long before the remaining wreckage
is not easily identifiable.

As for those who would deface the area, have them escorted from the
Ranch and make sure their parents and local council's know why they are
coming home. Problem will stop without much delay.

Just one opinion on the situation.
