[philmont] Desecration of Trail Peak

I've always felt that Philmont needs to do a better job of educating the crews on the significance of that site. On the occasions that our trek takes us to that location, I've always started the morning of the hike by explaining what the crash site represents. In my mind, it is no different than a military cemetery. Consequently, our kids have always treated the site with reverence and respect.

I find it sad when I see the graffiti, some of it dating from the 50's, scratched into the aluminum wreckage. In the time that I've been going to Philmont, I've seen a noticeable change in the appearance of the location. It's not the wilderness reclaiming the area so much as people carrying off souvenirs.
