Well Roy, in fact they (the logistics person) did tell us, and encourage us.

I was with our crew leader during the briefing, and most certainly it was
mentioned by the briefer as something "all the crews do".

As first timers, we didn't know about this "tradition", and wouldn't have
known, had we not heard it in logistics.
