Actually, one fell 60 feet and managed to arrest his fall with a branch or
something. The other fell 300 feet and still had a pulse when reached, but
died before med-evac arrived. They were coming down the trail from upper
Yosemite Falls to lower Yosemite falls and had gone ahead of their party.
The SM had stopped to help the other scouts dry out who had gotten wet.
They took what looked to them like a shortcut but was actually straight to
the edge.
They were, I believe, from one of the LDS troops in Modesto.
