[philmont] Requesting a trek for sister crews...

Each itinerary is designed to hold two crews every day.  Thus, at least in theory, each crew has a "sister crew" - one that follows the very same itinerary as you do.  As PSR operates at about ~87% capacity ( last I heard) it is *possible* that one crew does not have sister crew.

Dave,

I'm a novice here but I wouldn't count on getting your first choice, and two crews both getting their first choices seems unlikely.

I would like to know more about what "sister crew" means.  I have heard that Philmont sends out two crews each day on the same itinerary.  I don't know how that could work.  We didn't see the same guys all the time when we were there.

In 2005 our troop sent two crews on separate treks. The treks did cross in the middle, and it was fun to trade stories.

For 2008, the scouts want both crews to do the same trek, as sister crews. If both crews get their first choice, there is no problem.

Is there a way to indicate on the trek selection card that if one crew gets second choice (or third choice) that the other crew would also like the same corresponding choice?

It's not the end of the world if they wind up on separate treks, though.

Thanks,
Dave Smith
