In my seven treks, we have always hiked with (or as) sister crews.
Advantages and disadvantages. Competition is an issue regardless of if they are
another crew form your troop or a unknown crew. Who is up first? Who is "there"
first? Who is ahead? I feel the advantages (spending time together in the
evenings, etc.) outweigh the disadvantages if it is another crew from your
troop. If not, you make new friends regardless of the other issues.
In my father's humble words..."the advice is worth what you paid."
