[philmont] Waiting List Expectations

Recent trends say you will almost definitely get a slot. The question is
whether it is a slot you can use, since the schools that get out mid-june
are problematic for early june slots, and those going back to school early
august are problematic for august slots.
 
I'll leave the double-h talk to others.

Our troop is number 201 on the waiting list for Philmont in 2009. Does
anyone have any insight into the odds of this number getting a slot with
this number? Some of our troop leaders want to bag it and get an assured
spot at Double-H. I would appreciate any comments comparing Philmont to
Double-H. Is there been anyone who has recently attended both and would
like to comment on the relative experience?
