Jim,

It needs to be said over and over again, but thank you so very much for your labor of love(?) in providing the Philsearch website for all to use. There is something very "Scouting" in what you're giving back to Philmont attendees specifically and the Scouting community in general.

I would venture a guess that most crews going to Philmont find your site prior to attending, either randomly via web search or hearing about it through word of mouth. What they find is the best information anywhere to help them plan their treks. It is truly an incredible website.

As for photos that you still need to "put you over the top", maybe you could re-list them so crews going this year can pay you back in a small way. Our council's crews all know about your website and will help in anyway we can.

Again, thank you for what you do. The website is truly a fantastic tool for planning and preparing a trek at "Scouting's Paradise".

We are again fortunate to have the cooperation of Ranch management and so PhilSearch will be updated with 2008 Treks Data coincident with the update of the national website on 3/15.

Its difficult for me to predict the impact on the site. While I do not anticipate problems I will be monitoring it and will make adjustments as required to meet bandwidth demands.

Please remember that this site is provided to you without charge but has very real costs and so excess bandwidth, while available, is not pre-provisioned but instead purchased as needed.

If problems do occur, Please be patient.

I will post the "Summary of Differences" report on this list on 3/15 as well for those that are interested.

For those of you inclined to thank me for the site, the hundreds of hours of work it represents and the money I spend recognize that it is a labor of love and as such is my gift to the scouting movement in return for what it has done for me, my troop and my family.

There is only one thing I wish for, and that is a complete set of photos. I'm disappointed that we didn't go over the top in 2007 and I'd ask 2008 crews to rectify that or that previous partipants search their archives as well.
