Subject: [philmont] It's been a good ride

There is a REI store in Housto and I go there about twice a year. When the
clerk asks if I know my membership number I tell them and they usually tell
me "thats not enough digits". I simply tell them "try it". They do and I
usually get the response "wow, I've never seen a number that low".

Had the same thing happen to me at the REI in Austin. Guy checking me out
said he'd been a member for years but his number was twice what mine is.

I just wish that when they do their annual sale, they would do some kind of
recognition for 'longevity'. Numbers less than 1000000 get and extra X%,
number less than 500000 get an extra X + Y % etc.

Haven't got my dividend notice yet, its not too big this year. But the sale
that goes along with it will pick up a lot of my petty cash.

Happy Trails,

Roy Fisher
