[philmont] Odd number of Scout in Crew

On more than one occasion we've used multiple Kelty Gunnison 4-mans. One trip was 4 youth in one with 1 2-man father/son team and 1 2-man with the other 2 adults.
Another trip was 2 4-man with 4 youth each and 1 4-man with 3 adults. A Gunnison split 3 or 4 ways was very light and worked very well for us. One of our Advisors was sure that the 4 man Gunnison was weight-wise equal to a 2-man Philtent.

The crews I have taken out have typically been older youth, 16-17. We put 3 in a Timberline 4 and it worked fine. They were pretty big guys and splitting up the Timberline 4 with ground cloth in 3 somewhat equal loads seemed to work fine. I never had a father/son team up. The kids seemed to like their own space, as we adults did. On two treks, we had three adults in a Timberline 4.
