The food is included. I saw a post that indicated you can buy 'extra'
food for pre-trek practice runs, in the event your crew is not already
used to cooking that kind of food.

I am getting the impression from all the emails I have been reading
lately that the Philmont Expedition registration fee doesn't cover food.
Is that correct? Some of the emails indicated that we could buy food
that was especially designed to work with the bakepacker device. If the
food is covered under the Expedition registration fee, then why would
you buy and carry your own food? Is that an option? If so, is there a
credit given for the food provided by Philmont?
