An advantage of 4 qt pots it that you can get lids that fit.

You may need to use two 4-quart pots to cook dinner for a crew of 12 (as
opposed
to one 8-quart pot). However, you will find that water boils much quicker
in a
4-quart pot since it has less surface area. Therefore you will be saving
time
and fuel. 4-quart pots are also easier to carry since they are smaller
(probably easier to clean too!). After reading Coop and Wally's guide, we
will
probably take our own 4-quart pots on our trek this summer.
