You may want to consider forming a film co-op as
described on pages 24-26 of the Philmont Advisor's Guide
published by Coop and Wally. There are also nice hints
on taking photos at Philmont.
 
Personally, my best Philmont photos were taken with a
Nikon F3. I also used it at Northern Tier, the Florida
Sea Base, on a Bahamas Sailing Adventure and on many
other Scouting trips. Since I now have trouble focusing
a manual SLR, I've been using a Nikon 8008 AF with a
35-70mm AF Nikkor lens for the past four or five years.
Kinda heavy but it takes excellent photos and is easy to
operate. For the future, I'm considering purchasing a
digital camera, probably an Olympus C-700 as I've heard
good things about this camera.
