Most new filters have the equivalent prefilter built in. I know my Pur
does. I've heard of all sorts of work arounds if they do not like a VW fuel
filter:-)
 
With cloudy water, it is not the big parts, it is the stuff that goes right
through all but your expensive primary filter.

I've never tried this, but i think in theory it sounds
good, what about putting a coffee filter around the
intake? would that help prevent any "big stuff" from
clogging the filter so fast?
