Lithium batteries (AA) are your choice. You can get them in the camera dept
of any drug store. They last months and months in a digital camera - just
so long as you use an external device to download your images.

Subject: [Philmont]: digital camera battery recharging

I, too am considering taking a digital camera and am worried about
batteries. Is there any likelihood of finding a source of overnight
electricity (such as a sympathetic staffer in a commissary) somewhere
in the middle of the trek?

Alternatively, does anyone have any experience with solar battery
chargers?
