I have found that the patch trading done at Philmont is some of the "purest"
of trading. Most always it is 1 for 1 type trades. It is generally a lot
less "cut-throat" than it is at the Jambo or a NOAC. Leave the super
valuable stuff at home.
The last trek I went on our lodge let us make a special flap and the proceeds
were split between the lodge and the contingent. It helped off set some of
our travel fees and gave us a special keepsake.
