I always try to get the Scouts the activities they would like on our
itinerary. In order to do that I give each of them a description of the
activities and ask them to indicate their preference high, medium, low.
>From the most desired we go over the itineraries that get the most desired
things in. Of course I am always using the previous years PEAKS for the
selections. When I get the current years itinerary book I compare our
choices to the new ones insure I am in fact asking for the trek we want. Be
careful with the changes made from year to year do not blindly put in for
last years trek numbers.
I found the following web page this year to help select trek numbers that
meet our needs.

Also try the following

0Guide%20for%202001.htm
Last time I had a week delay in sending the Dream Sheet in and we got our
second choice. Personally there is no such thing as a bad trek at Philmont,
there is lots to see and plenty to do. Some activities are in numerous
locations some one of a kind.
