Just a reminder to all who are bringing their own stoves to Philmont. In
2000, we had a crew in our contingent have their stoves confiscated at the
airport when they tried to ship them in their backpacks. I am sure, since
September 11, 2001, things have gotten even tighter. I would strongly
recommend checking your airline's stove policy. They do vary from airline to
airline. You may wind up shipping your stoves and fuel bottles like we did
to and from Philmont.
