I will ave to agree with Signe. I have been twice and have used both the MSR
Whisperlite and the Coleman Peak 1 Apex II. I prefer the Apex II only
becasue it can boil rather quick and simmer quite well, but also how stable
it is. The only advantage over the MSR Whisperlight is the compactablity and
weight. I noticed that the Apex II weighted a bit more than the MSR. In my
opinion, they are both really good stove. If you have either one currently,
they are perfect, but if you are looking into buying a stove, I'd go with
the Apex II. Or if you are real interested, you could make your own stove.
You can get more information by going to
http://members.home.net/d.h.j/stove/HighPerfAlcoholStove.html. This site
gives detailed information and specs on building three different stoves, and
all are almost identical.
