Diane
These details are all well handled by staff. It shouldn't be a concern.
Just get ready to have the time of your like. One of our contigent crews
lost an adult for a few days. The staff felt the sister crew would cover
the YPT issues. He met up with the crew at a staff camp via the garbage
truck. I know they also use chaplans for this to.
You do have to send at least 2 youth to get help.
I said it before. Phimont is run with the precision of Disney World. I
wouldn't be able to figure out how they could improve it.

Subject: [Philmont]: coming off the trail
What is the procedure when someone boy or adult has to come off the
trail due to injury or illness? I guess there are a few different
scenarios incident while hiking and cant make it to next camp, injury or
illness at staffed camp, or same at unstaffed camp. If its a boy, how many
need to come off with him and can they rejoin the group later?
