I will also add that this is the case 24 hours around to clock too. Even in
the middle of the night, in the case of emergency, the staff are dispatched
& start making their way to the party in need. As stated in a previous
post, when the incident is called into the health lodge, they determine the
level of seriousness & whether immediate response is required or not. Every
24 hour period the on-call SAR team rotates, and those on call for SAR have
beepers during their shifts (even in the daytime) so the team assembles
quickly in basecamp to begin their journey to the crew. As long as they are
not called out, they continue with their normal base camp duties.
