As far as I know they are pretty flexable on who is on the crew(have to be
boy scouts or course) as long as they get paid for everyone registered. The
nice thing about Amtrak was they didn't need a final count until 30 days
before. This beats the no refund discount airlines. We had 2 leaders leave
the trail after days because of altitude sickness. They just received
refund checks for $320.....and though we had a group ticket for the train
abtrack changed the ticket and they left the next day. Some things work.
One thing that bothers me about the reservation system is that our council
got the hit for reservations on a fourth crew. We all know that the space
was used. I guess it's punishement for overbooking.

This part I do not understand. I do not remember then asking for the names
of the crew members and have already sent the first three payments for
2003. So if one scouts drops out and we add another, we have to pay an
additional $444?
