Selden,
It is a Philmont arrowhead patch. It contains the
lettering MTN TREK toward the bottom of the arrowhead,
but other than that it looks like the other Philmont
arrowhead patches I've seen.
Well, I'll qualify this as it has been a couple of
years. I'm describing the arrowhead recognition item
my nephew received in 1999. His Mountain man trek
covered about 24 miles, and the trek included going
over Baldy (which surprised me since none of the lads
met until 2 pm the day they departed PTC).
He traced the route for me on a map during our layover
night on the way back to Oklahoma. I don't recall off
hand where else his Mountain Man Trek visited, too
much water through the creek since then for me.
However, he came off the trail the morning of his 19th
birthday, and I'm fairly confident he still recalls
every hourof that trek.
Hope that helps.
Kevin outta Norman, America
