Actually, BION, I have caught out both adults and Scouts wearing
Philmont Arrowheads they never earned. This seems most common at the
National Jamborees (not to say that it IS common there, but it
definitely occurs). I always strike up a conversation when I see an
Arrowhead (who could resist?) A minute's worth of questioning usually
makes the reality of the situation quite clear....

Ditto, BTW, for people wearing unearned Eagle patches or (more commonly)
Eagle knots on Adults, and also Wood Badge Beads on Adults.

Considering what a salient violation of the Scout Oath and Law this is
(playing an imposter, or (I guess) trying to impress people with a lie),
it is certainly an oddity to run across it as much as we do....
