'RE: [Philmont]: Boys Who Aren't Interested'

I must briefly respond to this old post. My brother-in-law swears that he went to Philmont in the early 1960's with four 17+ year-old men from the Cherokee Indian Reservation who were sent there by a judge, in lieu of being sent to reform school. They fully intimidated the advisor who was the local scout executive. The crew also had the scout executive's very young (too young)son, my brother-in-law, and his best friend. These guys were violent with everyone except my brother-in-law because he could cook, and the whole crew made him cook the entire trek. He rather disapproved of having to cook the whole time so he poisoned them all and gave the entire crew violent diarrhea. We have come a long way.
