Allen, I know you're going to laugh. 900 feet above sea level is high
altitude to some of us. I live 4 feet above sea level on the Texas Coast. I
had never been west of Dallas in my life befroe my trek. Of the 36 crew
members, none had altitude sicknes. I drank lots of water to stay hydrated,
and had no problems, other than a dull headache the night we slept on top of
Mount Phillips (11,700 ft).
