Advisor participation

"He did say that he was upset with me because he thought that I was denying
him
the opportunity to go to Philmont. I replied that it is our sons
opportunity;
our opportunity was 20 - 30 years ago. Now are role is to support our sons,
and I need to make sure that every adult meets the requirements in order to
help support the scouts opportunity. I don't know if he can see past his
desire to go to Philmont in order to be able to see his potential impact on
the
scouts."

As the beer commercial goes," TRUE". It is admirable for parents to want to
share such a great adventure with their child, but keeping things in
perspective Waite Philips donated Philmont for the youth. If anyone wants
an adult adventure he / she should arrange an Autumn Adventure. I'll bet the
same physical standards exist for them too.

Does anyone know the Philmont Federal Express address, or can we send it to
Rt. 1, Box 35, seeing as that is not a P.O. Box? (Taking two crews in 2004.
No it is not a USPS Post Office Box number and it will probably will work
FED EX. I do know from first hand experience it works UPS. See the long
dissertation I wrote on how to ship stoves at
http://www.troop99packmen.homestead.com/files/philmont.htm go to the
"Stove Shipping" link.

Travel Ideas

We are looking forward to a Trek in 2004 and would like to investigate
travel
options/agencies right away. Our troop's last trek was in 2000.Can anyone
recommend websites or advise what I need to do to find current
information...
Many thanks!
